Leading worship in Norwegian "You are worthy of it all"

Hey everyone!

Wow—this update is a little late, but better late than never! As many of you know, I had the incredible privilege of leading a team of nine young women to Norway and Amsterdam from April through June. It was such an honor to return to Norway for the second time and see how God continues to move across this nation. Over the course of our trip, we toured five different cities to preach the Gospel, share in youth groups, host events, and pour into both Christian and secular communities.

The Heart Behind the Tour

The main vision of our tour was to reach the youth and, as we often said, “give permission slips.”

What does that mean? In Norway, there’s a cultural concept called Janteloven—also known as “tall poppy syndrome.” It’s a Scandinavian mindset that discourages standing out, pursuing individual dreams, or openly celebrating your uniqueness, all for the sake of communal modesty. While there are good aspects to this, it can also silence people’s gifts and passions.

So much of our time in Norway was about encouraging young people to rise up, walk in their God-given identity, and live boldly for Jesus.

Bergen

We kicked off our tour in Bergen. For three days we focused on evangelism, debriefing our time in Amsterdam, and partnering with the local believers who hosted us.

Sogndal

From there, we headed to Sogndal to work with the local YWAM base. Our heart was to gather women from every background and show them the love of Jesus.

We hosted:

  • Women’s Nights – sharing about identity in Christ and worshiping together with women from Syria, Afghanistan, Eritrea, and more—Muslim, non-believing, and Christian alike.

  • A Mini-DTS – teaching on the love of God, the Gospel, and why we share it. People came from surrounding towns to join in worship and hear the Word.

  • Evangelism during one of the biggest party months for teens – serving pancakes, listening to stories, and watching God move powerfully, sometimes even sobering people instantly.

  • “Skeptical Week” at the college – where we joined in debates and conversations about Christianity, helping students rethink their assumptions about faith.

Arendal

Next, we traveled to Arendal, where we partnered with a local church I had served with the year before. Here, we poured into the “burning ones”—youth who are already so on fire for Jesus.

We hosted Bible studies, a girls’ night, and even joined students for late-night evangelism, where we saw salvations and radical encounters. One of the highlights was sharing about Jesus and missions directly inside the local high school classroom! We also spoke at Sunday service, building a deep connection with the church community.

Kristiansand

In Kristiansand, we were welcomed by an amazing host family connected to their church and local school. This opened doors for us to minister widely—from kindergarten through high school. We shared testimonies, spoke about missions, and encouraged students to follow Jesus wholeheartedly.

We also served on the prayer team at a large Christian event just before Norway’s national holiday, the 17th of May. It was powerful to see a city preparing to celebrate while also seeking God in prayer.

Halden

Our final stop was Halden, where we stayed inside a local church. Even though our time was short, it was packed with ministry:

  • Hosting another women’s event

  • Taking kids out evangelizing

  • Sharing at a house church about what God is doing in Norway

  • Visiting a large secular high school, where we not only got to share but also pray with believing students who are contending for revival in their school

  • Ending with a powerful Sunday service where my co-leader preached on the urgency of missions and the call for every believer to “GO.”

Wrapping Up

We ended our trip just south of Oslo, taking time to debrief and thank God for all He had done.

In total, we…

  • Visited 5 cities

  • Stayed with 1 host family, 1 YWAM base, 2 churches, and 1 student ministry

  • Hosted 10 events

  • Met with countless people one-on-one

  • Spoke at 4 schools

  • Preached the Gospel hundreds of times

  • Spent hours praying for Norway and its people

This time was truly life-changing—not only for those we met, but for our team as well. It was an incredible honor to partner with what the Lord is doing in this beautiful nation, and I’m so thankful I get to share it with you.
